Kelly Bolden, MD is currently Assistant Professor in the Division of Plastic Surgery at Howard University College of Medicine and an Attending Physician at Howard University Hospital.

Dr. Bolden is board certified by the American College of Surgery. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Spelman College and a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. She graduated with a Medical Doctorate from Baylor College of Medicine and subsequently completed her General Surgery residency at Emory University where she was Administrative Chief Resident. She then matriculated to the University of Texas at Southwestern where she completed her Plastic Surgery training at one of the premier programs in the country. Following her Plastic Surgery residency, she then completed a fellowship in Breast and Microsurgery at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland.

Dr. Bolden joined the medical staff at Howard in September 2012 after having served as an Attending Physician at Providence Hospital right out of her fellowship. Dr. Bolden has extensive experience in reconstructive and microsurgery, with an emphasis on breast reconstruction. In addition, she specializes in orthopedic, head and neck, and abdominal wall reconstruction, as well as breast and body contouring. In conjunction with the Wellness and Bariatric Center, she also focuses on reconstruction after massive weight loss (breast reduction, breast lift, arm/thigh lift, panniculectomy, abdominoplasty, etc).

Dr. Bolden’s other interests include facial aesthetics including Botox, fillers, facelift, blepharoplasty, brow lift, and fat injections.

While serving a diverse population, Dr. Bolden always strives to provide compassionate, focused, discrete, functional, and transformative care to all of her patients.
